Messy Movement

Do you wish that sometimes you could just do the thing you are working towards? Would you take a magic pill if you could achieve it immediately?

We had an amazing chat with Soisci this week on the TMC Podcast, she has many years experience and knowledge in Moving and teaching. Jeni  and I are both pumped that she is coming to teach workshops at TMC in 2 weeks.

One of the things we spoke about was this idea of not solving the puzzle for people, but rather laying out the pieces (framework) for people to explore and experience through their own bodies.

I believe this idea that tinkering and figuring things out through experience (doing)  provides so much value when learning something new.

Don't get me wrong it's great to have progressions /guidance and someone to help support your journey. Those people who have been through the process already with some insight into the best way forward.

But playing, failing and learning is all a part of the process of your development. This concept shows up in our current program in the bar section of the Session C.

This section isn't so much structured in progressions, it is more of time  allocated to explore, try new things, to fail to succeed, then rinse and repeat.

My thoughts are that the process of learning skills can be messy

Don’t wish this away and skip the process

Stop searching for the magic pill to get the skill

Enjoy the ride

You will uncover more about yourself than if you were to be given this magic pill :)

Hit reply and let me know - Would you take it and what would this magic pill give you?
