Training to only look good?

Training only to look good can have damaging effects

On the latest TMC podcast Jeni and I both explained how we have been in this place before.

Although there are many benefits to increasing muscle mass and losing fat, judging yourself everyday on only one metric can be very damaging for your physical health and mental health long term.

Jeni explained that through pregnancy parts of her hated her body and she gained 13 kg, so going by how you look or what the scales say to determine your worth seems counter to the way we should be treating ourselves.

Jeni explains through movement she is able to practice the things she loves and focus on many things at once, leading to a varied / healthy and more sustainable approach.

I personally got bored of hitting the gym to look good

I found new and exciting ways to move my body, starting with crossfit and landing on movement, this movement approach is multidimensional with a limitless amount of areas to focus on and develop.

This approach is also great when we get injured, instead of being out of the game, we just change the game we are playing and play on

Movement gives you the ability to be adaptable and flexible.

Here these ideas and more in our latest podcast ep 21

We mixed things up and did a collaboration with Michael Fernandez on the Whyte belt podcast. Jeni and I were interviewed by Michael and had the best time chatting about Movement and TMC.

Our best episode yet - give it a listen below and hit reply to this email to have a chat about any of the topics discussed.
